Data Services
High Speed Data
If you own a laptop or a
PDA, you can send and receive information up to
three times faster than with any other UK standard
data transfer* with Orange High Speed Data.
Orange High Speed Data operates at up to 28.8kbps.
This not only allows you to send or receive information
(like files and documents), use email and browse
the Internet up to three times faster, it also
saves you money.
To buy a High Speed Data Plan as your Service
Plan please call 0500 802080.
*Standard data transfer refers to circuit switched
data connections at speeds of 9.6kb/s.
Orange GPRS
GPRS (General Packet Radio Services) provides
a different way of sending information over the
Orange network by transferring data in bursts
or packets rather than one continuous stream.
After initial connection, you remain constantly
connected to Orange wap services, email or the
Internet and only pay for the information you
send and receive not for the time connected. And
you can still receive voice calls while online.
Either by using your phone on it's own or with
a laptop or PDA, you can send and receive emails
even when you're out and about. You are charged
by the size of the email or file you download
and send - not for the time you spend reading
or writing them.
To receive email on your phone you need a GPRS
phone with inbuilt email software, like the Ericsson
T39m or Ericsson T68 phones. Find out how to get
email on the move with our step-by-step guide.
To receive email on your laptop or PDA using
your phone, you'll need a GPRS phone and a laptop
or PDA, and connection: by infrared, cable, jacket
or Bluetooth™, from your phone to your laptop
or PDA.
Find out how to set up mobile email on a laptop
or PDA using your Orange phone, with our step-by-step
guide.
By accessing services through your wap phone
you can tap into information whenever you want
and with constant connection, accessing wap email
becomes quicker and easier as well.
To take full advantage of this service you need
GPRS activated on a compatible Orange wap phone.

phone, with our step-by-step guide.
For more information call 150 from your Orange
phone.
If you are a pay monthly customer you can use
Orange GPRS abroad. GPRS is available in a number
of European countries through our partner networks
and we are continually working to extend the availability
of Orange GPRS abroad. Where networks do not support
Orange GPRS data is transferred at the standard
speed of up to 9.6kbps. Find out where you can
use Orange GPRS abroad.
Mobile Email
Mobile Email is about keeping you in contact
with your inbox while you're on the move. With
Mobile Email you can use your phone as a modem
to access your email. You don't have to wait until
you get home or back to the office to stay in
touch with friends, colleagues, clients and family,
no matter where they are in the world.
Orange is the only network to offer a choice
of high-speed data technologies, so you can choose
to use GPRS or Orange High Speed Data to connect
to Mobile Email, depending on which suits you
best. You will need to have a GPRS or Orange High
Speed Data enabled phone to access Mobile Email.
